Off to the Snow We Go!

I'm going on my first "vacation" in a while! We're going skiing, or in everyone else besides me's case... snowboarding, in Mammoth until the new year. Yippee!! I got these adorable new pink ear muffs and I'm probably more excited about those than actually skiing. ha!

I'll miss you guys but I'm sure you're all enjoying some time off as well. At least I hope that's the case. :)

Happy New Year to all of you!!! I have a great feeling about 2009.

Night on the Town...

Me and my tranny hooker shoes went to LA last night for my friend Sascha's birthday bash. We went to Geisha House for some overpriced sushi and cocktails and then headed to her promoter friend's house for a little pre party action- including Arizona's beat box champion showing us his "mad skills" ( If I were talking to you in person those would be air quotes. Ya, I'm not afraid to use air quotes people. I'm bringing them back like J-Timb and sexy.)

Anyway- then it was off to Kress, which much to our shagrin, was hosting an Affliction party. Barf. If you don't know what that means, consider yourself below the douche bag radar. Don't bother Googling it.

So yea- this post is chock full of pics with lots of fun details. Check it out-

Banksy really wanted to be in the picture.

Would you believe I spent like 5 hours carefully ripping this shirt? I blame Carbon Couture for giving me the idea! (though hers is waaaaay radder)

He seriously wouldn't get out of the frame. He's so cute!
So these are my tranny hooker shoes. I love them and Jak and Jil blog inspired me to bust them out again. It's rare to have an occasion to wear them and not look insane.

You bad boy! Haha.

Hello Again...

I almost forgot about these lovely little shoesies by Dries VanNotten. I kind of love them and also kind of hate them.

I love them cause they have a killer shape and I love how close the heel is to the front part. I also love how high up the vamp is. They're very funky. Me likey.

However, I hate how they are secretly high. I mean- these shoes are WAY higher than they look. They don't have a platform and the heel is super chunky so at first glance they don't look high- but they are.

Anyway- welcome back shoes! I missed you.

Christina Aguilera obviously saw my hair post.

Someone tell her to stop biting my style. Sheesh.
First she copies Gwen, then Lady Gaga... now me?? Come on now. I'm on to you Christina.

For My Homies in the Tri-State Area...

Wanna get warm?? Go get you some cashmere!!! At an extra 20% off no less...

Just a heads up ;)

More Tooting of the Horn!

You asked for it!

hahaha. Ok, so I literally screamed when I saw this in China. Our LAMB designer brought a bunch of fashion magazines from Hong Kong and he noticed THIS! Yessss!

This is one of the coolest feelings ever- having your work in a magazine that is seen all over the world. It's SUCH a trip. I can't wait 'till the shoes are in stores and people are actually buying and wearing them!!!

Stay tuned...

(PS.... the only downer? If you click on the pic and look closely I'm on the same page as a You by Crocs shoe!! Oh well...)

Gratuitous Showing Off...

Soooo, I came home form China this morning and had my company holiday party to go to tonight. I figured it was the perfect time to debut my beautiful new shoes!! :)

They were a hit! And guess what... they were even comfortable! Like, totally comfortable- not just comfy for sexy hot amazing shoes.

There's my hot date. My Ben. He's so cute, he totally wore a pink shirt to compliment my party dress. Awee.

Feeling Inspired...

Last night I was looking through some editorial images and I came across this scary hairy coat in W magazine. It reminded me of my hair, post blow dry- pre straightener.

This look brings me back to a painful time in my adolescence when the boys in school called me penis head. Or dick head if they had an extra dose of snails and/or puppy dog tails and were feeling particularly mean and nasty.
Whatever. That kinda stuff builds character, right? If I would have been the hot chick instead of "dick head", my life would have peaked in high school and gone to shit from there, right?

Well anyway. Here I am in all my 80's metal head glory.

BOO! Did I scare you? hahahahahahahahaha

SUPER Inappropriate, BUT...

Thanks to my hunny bunny Benjamin, who sent me this. It's the funniest thing since Dick in a Box, from last year. J.T. even makes a little cameo in it as the janitor.

Enjoy kiddies!

Salutations Shoe Savants

The lovely, generous, designing extraordinaire, the Shoe Girl herself, has asked me to contribute...and I am honored to do so.  I share Celine's love for shoes as well as a passion for design, so hopefully I can add some frosting to her already saweeet blog.

Here is a Spring '09 board I did a little while ago.  (We worked on this delivery in summer of 08...I know, working multiple seasons at once makes us all slightly insane.) Inspiration comes from so many things, and for me, not much of it comes from other footwear....I feel like ready-to-wear can explore so many things relative to embellishment, construction, and material, whereas shoes have more restrictions, both in spatial and technical terms.  Seeing what is possible on a larger scale, in my case, makes me want to see what is possible for a shoe.  Our Lamb designer takes a lot of inspiration from jewelry and architecture, which is always exciting to see as an interpretive process.  Anyways,....here are some trends we've been seeing:

-  fabric manipulation, 'mille-feuille' take on layers, ruffles, florals, etc

-  netting, cutting, sort of an update to the goth glam movement, but with a 90's edge

-  shine, but dirty shine, imperfect, bronze, black diamonds, a la Balmain (...ahh....sigh)

-  geometry, futurism, cutouts, optical illusions, kaleidoscopes (Mcqueen did some dope prints)

-  straps, bondage, strong ankle coverage....strong, statement accessories overall.

-  accessories seem to be the saving grace of recession fashion...thank g-d (knock on wood)

-  structured, classic silhouettes with menswear roots, but sexy lines and futuristic touches (an ode to my idol, Ms. Lanphear) ...classic materials mixed with synthetic (rubber, pvc, neoprene) I think this will continue into fall

Anyways, hope you enjoyed and I tend to be long winded.  oops.  Thanks again to the illustrious Shoegirl for being so generous with her blog space :-)  Ciao all~  jp

Readers, Meet Jessie. Jessie, Meet Readers...

So I asked my (literally) life long friend Jessica Palermo to contribute to my blog from time to time. She's my partner in design for Hale Bob and she also does Badgley Mischka footwear on her own. Our dad's are business partners and best friends. Jess and I have VERY different style, which I think is the most exciting part about us designing together.

Anyway- she's going to post soon and I just wanted to give her a little intro. ;)
She's way more fashion savvy than I am and was featured on The Sartorialist blog a few months ago. She'll hate me for telling you that but I'm not making her a blog administrator so she can't do anything about it! BWA-HA-HA!

Hard Times = High Heels?

Watch CBS Videos Online

Firstly, thanks in advance to fellow shoe blogger Dexter for NOT getting mad that I'm totally stealing this video off your blog, The High Heel Times!

That said, check out this video (from the early show on CBS) which claims that as times get tough, women turn to higher heels. Pretty interesting, non?

Past trends show that it's true, and I totally get it. I mean, when I feel like shit I can turn it around real quick like- simply by slipping into a sexy pair! I mean, really. My kooky brain would have never put 2 and 2 together like that. Go CBS! ha.

Anyway- check it out.

OH! And even though they didn't mention us, they show a pair of LAMB booties (the grey ones next to the YSL's- click the link to get them in black from heels.com) as one of their "favorites". So ya. Go LAMB!

Holiday Wishlist...

Are we friends?

Do you love me but hate buying me gifts 'cause I am so dang hard to buy for? Do you want to celebrate my diverse heritage by giving me both a Chritsmas and a Hanukkah  gift? Well, thank you. Let me help you out since I'm sitting here in China and have niente to do.

Ho Hum... this is what I am lusting after.

this blythe doll or THIS one or THIS one (though if you must, go to ebay so you don't get ass raped by those prices)

THEEEEESE shoes!! (8 1/2 please) **NEVERMIND. Pamela Anderson ruined this shoe for me.

Chanel skis? Sure, I'll take those.

YOU, following my blog. Awee.

And that is all for now. I don't want much I suppose. ;)

Also, please check out Chrismuhkkah.com cause it's great. I love the "Jewish" christmas songs. I really like "meshugga beach party". Oy!

***UPDATE***

ok, so I also found:

These adorable slippers (for indoor use only)

And my wacky hair post reminded me of THIS AWESOME STRAIGHTENER that I reeeeally want badly!

K? K.

PS...

Jessie: "I like your Edward Munch Celine creation"
Me: "Edward Munch??"
Jessie: "ya thats the artist of the "scream""
Me: "hahahaha derrrrrr. I am so gay. I had NO idea"
Jessie: "sorry."

I'm so lame

Bored in China...

We have a day off today, which is so weird. Believe it or not, I've never had one before.
Well, maybe once but that was forever ago and I was sick or something. China is work work work.

OMG though, last night... hammer time. I drank like 2 bottles of wine and I am paying for it. It was super duper fun though. Fun, in China. It's kind of a new concept for me but seems to be the theme of this trip. I'm usually totally depressed, but this time for whatever reason I'm quite chipper.

Anyway, I don't suppose any of you amazing people want to help me reconfigure my blog? I mean, I just want to do simple stuff like change my background to something custom that I made, but can't for the life of me figure out how to place. URGH!

*stomps around room in a pouty child-like fashion*

Something about Blogger. I just cant get it. My myspace is all tricked out but this thing... well let's just say I'm not stoked on it. For now- I'll make a few changes. Test out a new look. What do you think? Do I look more mature and serious now? ha ha ha

Anyway anyway.........
I just had a 2 HOUR foot "ah-massagie" and it was ah-amazing! Like wow. All I needed was al floor length golden gilded gown and one of those
long cigarette thingies and a hot greased up Italian man in the place of my sweet little Chinese girl.
Luxury daaaahhhling. Pure luxury.

So This is What I Do on My Off Days:
-watch fashion tv
-lurk my blog favies
-play world of warcraft for a few hours (I can't believe I wrote that. Truth's out)
-eat at semi-questionable Chinese buffets cause I don't want to leave the hotel
-talk talk talk while Jessie is trying to quietly enjoy her foot massage
-have embarrassingly long photo sessions of me making weird faces on my MacBook
-make myself laugh with crap like this:

Stop the Mother Fucking Presses...

Sorry to be vulgar with the F word and all (I always think of my husband's born again Christian family stopping by my blog on the days I write profane words and almost delete them from the guilt I feel... ALMOST. Sorry Sotos! I love you though!)

**** Ok, so now I deleted the post even though I said I wouldn't,  because I didn't see that she said not to write about her. (yes, I know "S" wrote a comment telling me that she did, but I thought maybe she mentioned not liking it or something- not that she specifically said not to do it)

Those of you who saw it- I hope you enjoyed it. If you have no idea what I'm talking about- Don't worry about it.
K thanks.

Sandra Bullock Featured Hairstyles Today

Several years ago Sandra Bullock made headlines, not only for her movie roles, but also for her hairstyle. Her trendy medium length layered hairstyle with side swept bangs became a very popular request on various search engines.

She has grown out her hair to a longer medium length, verging on a long style. Her Feature Hairstyles Today at Hair Resources is a very stylish look.

Sandra is wearing her hair down straight and smooth, with some layers flipping out slightly on the ends. She has nearly a full bang with the length ending just past her eyebrows. The bangs are styled slightly side swept off a deep side part.

To achieve the extra shiny appearance of this style, you can apply shine drops to your hair after you have finished styling it. See Sandra Bullock's Medium Hairstyles

Ha ha ha

Ok, so I'm so cheesy that I think this is totally funny right now. I'm in the United business lounge and our flight is delayed so I'm leaving comments on myspace. Anyway, I left Ben a comment and this was the captcha thingy that came up and I laughed out loud. I mean... it sounds like a hotline for husbands to call when their wives are on a PMS rampage. 1-888-4PMS!!?? Is this a sign?

HAHAHA.

OK, maybe not that funny but whatever. I like it.

Off to China... AGAIN.

I'll post as soon as I can!

XOXO

A MUCH Better Alternative to Uggs...

Ok, so yesterday I found these cute little pull-on boots at Brass Plum (Nordstrom) and when I slipped them on this morning I thought... what a great alternative to Uggs for those who just can't let go.

Hear me out. If you love Uggs it can't be for the looks, right? They're heinous.

So maybe you like the ease of a soft boot that you can just slip on and go? Well, these have the same function while being a lot cuter.

Maybe you like the price? How much are Uggs? Like $150? That's pretty good for a pair of boots
right? Well, these are only $79.95

Maybe it's the wear-with-everything tan color it comes in? Well these come in that same color! Look at that!

Anyway, my point is that I do understand comfort but let's not completely forget style, OK ladies? I mean, these are definitely not the cutest boots I own, but they're comfy and easy to wear and go. :)

Don't forget kiddies: Uggs rhymes with FUGGS for a reason.

Celebrity Hairstyles & Fashion

Celebrities always grab our attention at red carpet and awards events. The dresses and gowns are always so glamorous. And the hairstyle are always eye-catching and trend-setting examples for all of us normal people to copy.

It must take hours for celebrities to get ready for awards events. They probably pick out dresses months in advance and schedule an appointment with a hair stylist even years in advance.

See great Red Carpet Celebrity Hairstyles and leave a comment about your favorite one.

Haircuts for Thick Coarse Hair

When you are looking for a new hairstyle you should always start with knowing your hair texture. A hair texture that is thick and coarse will style differently than a hair texture that is thin.

One of the many tricks that hair stylists use for thick and coarse hair is to get a shorter style that has lots of layering. Layers help the hair to lay smoothly without the bulk.

Be sure to apply a smoothing serum or de-frizz product to damp hair before blow drying. Always point the nozzle of the blow dry down along the hair shaft as you dry. Another great tip is to blast your hair with cold air after you are finished blow-drying. The cold air helps to close the cuticle, locking out any frizziness.

THEY'RE HERE!!!!!!!!

I can't believe how fast they came!! I'm so happy!!!! They fit and they are beeeeautiful! :)
I'm going to wear them ASAP... I have to. It's love I tell you. Love.

Celebrity Hairstyles and Your Hair

Do you ever see a celebrity hairstyle in a magazine and think to yourself 'I want to get that hairstyle'?

Before you run off to your stylist with celebrity photo in hand, you need to do a little pre-salon evaluation. First, what type of hair texture does this celebrity have? Is her hair thick, thin or somewhere in between? Next, what is the face shape of this celebrity? Is it anywhere close to your face shape?

These are 2 very important factors that can make or break your celebrity hairstyle. If you have thick hair and select a hairstyle that is designed for thin hair, you are asking for trouble. Some stylists consider the hair texture to be the most important consideration for a new hairstyle and face shape is second.

Another important factor that you should always be thinking about is the circumstances surrounding celebrities today. They usually have a full time stylist that does their hair every day--which is why you see them always looking so fabulous. Do you have time every morning to do all the styling required to achieve the same results? Sometimes you might not be able to achieve these results---leaving you with bad hair days and dissapointments.

The best thing that you can do if you are thinking about a major hairstyle change is to try out the style using hairstyle imaging software. Check out the link below to see how easy it is to upload a photo of yourself and try on many different hairstyles. For each style that you try on there is also detailed styling instructions and info on what type of hair and face shape the styles are suited for.

Check it out now---don't be stuck with a bad hair cut!

Toot Toot...

Ok, so I kind of get embarrassed promoting my own stuff, (tooting my own horn if you will,) so I don't do it often, BUT... heels.com is having a Celebrity Shoe sale and that includes this JLO shoe I did.
It was already a good price, but now, at $109, it's even better!

I personally love this shoe and ordered myself a pair from China but have yet to receive it. I think it's sexy and easy to wear.

Yippee!

Grey Grey, Go away

I'm wearing head to toe grey today to match the weather. What a yucky day.
At least my L.A.M.B peep toe pumps (on SALE now at heels.com!!)will bring a little sunshine into my life. ;)

Fishermen Have Hooks, Women Have Heels.

Look what my super talented, slightly perverted husband did! It's for an art shoe @ T & P Fine art in Philadelphia (he did the flyer art too). How cute is the title. We thought of it together seconds before falling asleep. We came up with some other good shoe quotes too, but I can't remember. Thats the bad thing about thinking of things while drifting away to cuddle land.

Anyway, check it out... there are a bunch of talented artists, including out good friend Parker Jacobs who is equally amazing.
He's in good company. :)

I secretly hope it doesn't sell so that we can keep it and put it up in our house. hehe

OOH! And check out his website too while you're at it. BenjaminSoto.com
He's so dreamy...

Shhhh... Don't Tell Ben!

I totally just went and bought these amazingly SICK Nicholas Kirkwood shoes! I saw them on the Jak & Jill blog and was sold! I mean, come on... these are perfect.

What's better? I went to look for them at Seven New York, one of the few websites that carries them, and there was a 36 and 39 left!! I'm usually a 38.5 but I'll keep my fingers crossed. Yippee!

I decided in a dream last night that I need to own a pair of Kirkwoods. I mean, he is fabulous and I love fabulous shoes... it makes perfect sense. So I made my dream come true so to speak. haha.

I'll update you as soon as they arrive :)

I'm buff.

I could survive for 1 minute, 25 seconds chained to a bunk bed with a velociraptor

Thanks for this Wendy. You're fueling my goofyness. I'm on a good one today.

Happy Holidays!

I'm seriously peeing myself over here... this is the funniest thing I've ever seen. Wow.

Thanks to my backup dancers: My hubby and my puppy! Thanks guys! ;)
