Anticipation...

Well FINALLY Mr. FedEx man. Jeeze, I've only been waiting all day.

I still can not believe I found these beauties on SALE. Lucky me! And thank god I had the sales guy ship both the 8 and the 8 1/2... I wasn't sure which would fit and when I opened the box for the 8, there was an 8 and a 6 1/2. WTF??

Well, the 8 1/2's were what I needed anyway. :)

So here they are in all their asymmetrical glory! I l-o-v-e them and am instantly smitten.

Love is in the Air

After a night of celebrating it was time to get up and head across the street to my friend Gigi's bridal shower! Gigi is one of those girls that everyone loves, and has tons of girl friends so her house was filled happy and bubbly friends in dresses and heels sipping champagne and gossiping. My idea of a fun Sunday afternoon!

Ben used my new camera to take pictures of my outfit and shoes. Can you tell the difference? I love it! It's a Canon Rebel XS and it's my new favorite toy.

Birthday Shoes

If we start at the end we have this... and a pair of achey feet.

My birthday was super fun! I had dinner with a few of my amazing friends and then went to a local bar to... well, get trashed and party.

Ben got me a NEW CAMERA!!! Yay! Finally I'll have some decent pictures on here, can you believe it!? :)

Happy Birthday to ME!

What better way to celebrate getting OLDER than to wallow in self- pity and take myself shopping? HA.

Just kidding... kind of.

Ben took me to Marché Modern (yum) for lunch, followed of course by a visit to Christian Louboutin. Nordstrom is right next door to that so we popped in there for a quick second. 

I tried on a bunch of stuff that should have been cute, but you know- I was just having one of those days. You know the ones. Where you feel like a fat ass and nothing seems to fit quite right. 

There was an Herve Leger dress on sale for more than 50% off but I just felt like I looked like a cougar in training in it. It's too bad because with some Crisco and a pair of Spanx that dress would have ben h-o-t! 

So, after trying on about 9 outfits and then complaining to my sales guy about shitty lighting and explaining how strip clubs use red lights to reduce the look of skin blemishes and cellulite ( I swear it works) ... it was time to go. I was however grateful for all the looks I saw that I was getting- or rather that my SHOES were getting. I may have a big ass but I have killer shoes.

I love these new jeans I picked up at Planet Funk on my long day in LA. Give me anything with back seam zippers and I'm sold! 

So we get home and there's a FedEx slip on the door. DANGIT! My Jil Sander shoes came home and I wasn't there to greet them. What a bad shoe mommy I am! :( I'm kind of pissed 'cause I really wanted to have them as an option for whatever I end up wearing tonight. 

Boo hoo.

Thanks SO much to CBS news and Katrina Szish for mentioning my picnic wedges!! I'm so glad they liked them and mentioned them as some of their favorite shoes for Summer!

Queen of LA

I went to LA yesterday with my friend Caroline and we had no idea what we were in for. I thought I was just going to get some hot shoes, but I was wrong. Well, no- I did get some hot shoes- but that wasn't the best part.

Best part? BETTER than these amazing Charlotte Olympia pumps?

Well, hopefully you watched Ru Paul's Drag Race on Logo. If so, I'm sure you know who SHOULD have won. Yes, the amazing- the beautiful Ongina. Oh how I love her. And as luck had it- she happened to be at Diavolina at the same time as me. 

I totally had a star struck moment and gushed a little about how amazing I thought she was... and she was totally sweet! She told us that she was performing at a drag show that night at Mickey's on Santa Monica Blvd. I mean, HELLO!!! I was not about to miss that!

So my quick trip to LA turned into a fun filled day of shopping, killing time, watching a movie, and eating all 3 meals out until finally- 10pm came and we were off to the bar.

Ongina greeted us with big hugs and promises of a good show- and let me tell you, she didn't disappoint.

Bitch makes me look hideous. Totally not fair.

I mean seriously? She's so beautiful!! And the shoes?!?!?! No wonder I love her.

She was bangin it out in some serious heels. I don't know who the first are by, but I'm sure you all recognize the second pair (Giuseppe Zanotti) and the third (Stella McCartney)

You go girl.

Anyway, so that was my day in LA. It was definitely one for the books! I also got a pair of beautiful boots... but I'll save those for later.
