Come Along with Me

A typical weekend day goes something like this...

(dress- Monroe, necklace- Miu Miu, bag- Balenciaga, glasses- Ray Ban, shoes- Louboutin)

Off to South Coast Plaza to check out the goods. My Betsey shoes on display at Nordstrom :)

My friend and favorite sales person Gian. We take ourselves very seriously obviously.

Next, off to the Louboutin Boutique to pick up Amita for lunch!

Hi Reghan!! ♥

The shoes I should have got married in...

Lunch at Marche Modern is our FAVORITE!!!

Yummy virgin Mojitos... no drinking for A till the baby comes out! ;)

My weakness= shoes and cosmetics...

I love window shopping.

I saw these Versace runway shoes and realized that I hadn't seen them in person yet. They're pretty cool but they're like 50 pounds and over $1000.00

Quick change for a casual drinks and dinner with some girl friends. :)

(top- Forever21, leggings- Charley 5.0, shoes- YSL)

From Sketch to Shoe to Rejection

This shoe is one of my favorites and it's not being made. It happens way more often than I'd like unfortunately.
We rely on stores like Nordstrom and Macy's because without big orders, shoes just don't get made. That means that shoes that don't "fit in" at Nordstrom or Macy's don't usually get bought by their buyers.
Well apparently this shoe didn't fit what they think their customer would like. It's the nerdy shoe with a great personality that nobody picks to be on their team in P.E. cause she's not the cheerleader shoe. Don't worry nerdy shoe, the cheerleader shoe will peak early in life and get pregnant her first year of junior college.
Ummm. Ya.

It starts with an idea-
I saw this vintage lucite heel (that is not my wrinkly thumb) and thought it was so pretty and could be very Betsey.
Then, there was this Charlotte Olympia shoe that was such an amazing shape...

Based on these two things, plus the other ideas I had for a group of vintage inspired shoes, I drew a sketch...

I thickened the heel shape and changed the platform a bit. I added a sweet little bow as a maryjane strap.

Then after a trip to China and a few prototypes, the real deal was finished!

Pretty awesome! :)

Unfortunately... we won't see it in stores. They didn't think you'd like it/buy it. Maybe they're right but I wish they would have tried.

New Betsey Johnson!

I just want to let you all know that all the new Betsey Johnson styles are finally the stuff I worked on starting almost a year ago. Yay! There aren't a ton of my styles out yet but they're coming and from now on all the new ones are the ones I did :)

These are on one of my favorite shoe websites, Heels.com

I love this new outsole we did. Cute and girly, yet almost subtle.

You can find these ones on Nordstrom.com

You cant really tell by this photo but there are big set stones inside the little rosettes. :)
You can tell better on the black one...

Well, I hope you like!! I'm really excited and honored to be Betsey's shoe designer and can't wait to see the runway show this weekend!!
Also, thank you all so much for your positive comments and emails. I love you guys.

4th of July Getaway

Ben and I decided to get away for the weekend since our town gets a little out of hand for the 4th of July. So it was off to Palm Springs to stay at the beautiful Viceroy hotel. I went on a little mini shopping spree and bought most of these clothes at Nordstrom in their Brass Plum dept. Definitely one of my favorite places to shop for pretty cheap basics.

(dress- BP, wedges- Chanel, tote- Goyard, glasses- Ray Ban)

(tank- JCrew, skirt- BP, shoes- Christian Louboutin, hat- Meilsa)

(skirt and tank- BP, shoes- Chanel, tote- Celine)

(onsie- vintage, shoes- Harajuku Lovers)

So I'm obviously obsessed with my new hat. I thought that it would be the perfect Palm Springs accessory! There's this awesome little hat store over at the Lab in Costa Mesa called Arth. They have some seriously great hats for guys and girls.
Anyway- just wanted to show you my poolside wardrobe lineup. The weather was beautiful if not a little too hot. The hotel was a perfect getaway and I recommend it to any of you who love to relax and have a great laid back vibe around you. We met some really cool people from LA and everyone was super friendly and sweet. We can't wait to go back!
