Sluggish Start

So I know I've been lacking in my posts and that's a crappy way to start off a new year of blogging but to be honest I've just been so busy and on top of that- I feel like a fat pig after all the crap I've been eating over the past month. Blah.

To make matters worse, I wore my Proenza booties for the first time yesterday- took pictures and then went to start this blog post only to realize that Jane at SoS had JUST posted pics of HER Proenza boots but WAY better pictures obviously because I have shitty lighting in my house especially with this time of year and (do I sound like enough of a whiney baby yet??) I feel like my thunder was stolen.

Hmmph.

HEY GUYS! Happy New Year!!!!!!! I'm so excited to se what 2010 has in store for us! :)

I had a meeting with the lovely girls over at bebe yesterday and wore my newly acquired Proenza Schouler boots that I obsessed over until they went on sale. Yippee!

I love these and have loved them since I first saw them. They are a shoe person's shoe for sure. And what I mean by that is that I feel like people who don't really "get" shoes wouldn't understand these. Lots of people will probably find them hideous but they are just so cool and different that I can't help but love them! They're like an art piece.

I've been dying to show you guys this amazing piece Ben had commissioned for me for Christmas but I'm really having a hard time with my camera and the lighting and I really have no clue what I'm doing so until I learn this picture will have to do. It doesn't really do it justice :( but you get the idea.

TAH DAH!! Lynne Naylor is one of my favorites. I love how she draws girls and I can not believe how cute this is!! I am so happy and feel really lucky to have it in our house :) It's a cuter sexier version of me and I'm so glad she included Banksy and Stella. Too cute.

Ok, So I'm a Hypocrite...

So what. I never thought I'd EVER be into a stretch boot... I mean, EVER. But whadda know? I found one- the only one- I love. This is the Jil Sander boot that I was talking about. I got them for 80% off at Jeffery and they are absolutely the sluttiest/sexiest things I own. Hahaha!

I have to tell you my embarrassing story though!

I knew I shouldn't have, but I wore them out to dinner one night in NY. I figured I'd be ok since we were taking cabs.

For some reason, I think we were trying to catch a cab, I was out in the street and I slipped on a patch of ice and totally ate shit... hard! My first thought of course was "Oh my god! My new boots!!" cause I fell on my knee and palms. Miraculously, my boots were mostly ok- no rip in the knee, but check out my knee. Ouch.

My priorities are so out of whack. Ha ha ha.

The lacquer on the inside of one the platforms got scratched off pretty bad, but I think I can fix it, and if not- you can barely see it.

Anyhoo- what do you guys think? :)

I will never forget this fall! It was so funny and embarrassing!!

And isn't it funny how now it's all about stretch boots and over-the-knee boots. Who knew? ;) I can't believe I got these at 80% off. Ridiculous. That would never happen now!

Off to the Dog Park...

I'm going to my friend Chris's annual Turkey Day. He makes Thanksgiving dinner a week early for those of us who love it so much we literally can't get enough. Hopefully these skinny jeans still fit after the fact. ;)

By The Way...

I ended up buying those flat boots, and they were shitteous. They fit SO badly and looked super cheap. I was really excited to get them too. :(

You know when you're waiting by the door for the UPS truck... like where's my package, where's my package, WHERE'S MY GD PACKAGE!?!?!

Ya... it was one of those. Then I got them and waaahhh waaaaaahhhhhh- sucky. Maybe I should have taken a picture of them to better illustrate the shittyness of them. And $400 something is not cheap. If they were as good as they looked on the website, they'd be a good deal... but for crappy boots? Naaaah.

Anyway, just wanted to clear that up. Don't buy them.

I will say something good about Revolve Clothing though... they have a 30 day return policy and free shipping to me and back to them. That's awesome and will guarantee that I will go back to them in the future. :)

WTF Do You Wear to Gwen's Party?

Well, I wore this. I figured it was cute, without looking like I tried too hard. Plus I had to make sure that the shoes, or boots in this case, were the statement of the outfit. They're L.A.M.B. and I L-O-V-E them.

I got a lot of compliments of the boots including Shirley Manson telling me she loved them, and Gwen herself telling me she almost wore them too. Ya, I was pretty stoaked.
