To Sock? Or not to Sock?

Sandals or pumps with socks... Hmm.

I've always liked the look but I never really tried it 'cause it seems like one of those things that look good on OTHER people. Not me.
But I figured, what the heck? I'm The Shoe Girl right? Gotta try it out...

If I look like I'm concentrating its 'cause I am. These suckers are HIGH as heck! Look... They're almost as big as Stella!

Got my nails done at Atlas again!!! Japanese nail art is so dang fun. I wish I could afford to do it all the time. So cute!
It's my friend Julie's big 3-0 tomorrow (HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULS!!) so I got them done with big black bows on my ring fingers cause bows are her thing. And cause I knew it'd be cute. ;)

(skirt socks and tank- American Apparel, headband- Miu Miu, shoes- L.A.M.B.)

So what's the verdict?? Do you like the socks? I definitely think they're not an every day thing but they sure cute-y up these could-be-trashy heels. Normally I'd wear them with jeans or leggings (or "jeggings" if you must) but the socks sweeten them up enough to be able to wear them with a short skirt... right?

OH! And dont forget about my ebay store! I'm adding more shoes every day :)

Date Night

Sometimes it's nice to get dressed up just for fun and go on a date with my wonderful hubby :)
It's a great excuse to wear ridiculously high shoes too!

(dress- 12th Street by Cynthia Vincent, Clutch- L.A.M.B., Shoes- Christian Louboutin)

These shoes are my 3 hour shoes. I can't do much standing/walking in them so I don't like to wear them to anything lasting longer than 3 hours. haha

*I   L O V E   T H E S E   S H O E S *

I would like to sing them a love song.  ♪ ♫ La la la laaaaaa ♫ ♪

And now: The money shot for all you perverts out there. I love you. Hahahaha ♥

Your Inner Stripper?

I've always had a sort of fascination with stripper heels. Yes, they're trashy and skanky, obviously... but there's something great about them too. Vertigo inducing height, usually involving lucite, almost always sexy. Am I alone here?
I was very excited to see Fendi's new stripper inspired heels and am smitten with them. I love how the first ones are covered up in contrast to the sexy skinny heel and lucite platform. Very naughty.

And the nude color on these are just ridiculous. These are probably insanely sexy on the foot.
I want. I need.

Date Night

Last night, Ben and I went out with our favorite neighbors to eat some serious king crab legs. I learned my lesson from Thanksgiving and in preparation for my over-eating I wore a loose top. ;)

My Fendi shoes that Victoria Beckham forced me to buy came in the mail so I obviously had to wear them! They take high to a new level for me. I think these are officially the highest heel I own but I'll have to get out the measuring tape to make sure.

And here they are... Tah-dah!

Stella kisses!

*** THEY WENT ON SALE AT BARNEYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are now 40% off!***

Embracing My Dark Side

So I realize that I've taken WAY to long to post these babies considering how in love with them I am so for that, I apologize.
Anyway- Today I jumped the gun on Fall... I just can't wait for colder weather I guess. It was an uncomfortable 80-something degrees today and I was regretting my outfit choice. Good thing I was in air conditioned rooms all day I suppose. ;)

Looking at my pictures I now realize that this sweater isn't at all flattering so no need to point that out. Haha. I kinda look like a potato.

(sweater-Brighton, leggings-F21, shoes- Christian Louboutin)

These shoes make me want to play up my darker side! I know there's all this black lipstick on the runways and in the magazines, but I just cant pull it off with my blonde hair. I opted instead for a super dark almost black plum, topped with a super sparkly bright pink to soften it up a bit. I'm also loving this black/gold instant smoky eye. Just rub it on and voilla!

(Dazzleglass Creme in Creme Allure, Satin Lipstick in Cyber AB8, and Mineralize Eye Shadow in Gilt By Association)

As for the shoes, they're as killer as they look! One of my favorite shoe quotes EVER is from Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes when she says "A lady never admits her feet hurt!"
Well, I won't admit it but I'll let my Hello Kitty ice pack do the talking...

Fendi: The Good, the Bad and the Fugly.

Oh Fendi... What is going on?

Let's start with these amazing platforms. The good.
These are siiiiiiick! I mean, don't try these at home kids... these have some serious heels (6.5 inches!!!) and even with a substantial platform, the pitch is super high. Yikes.
BUT... thats why I love them. The higher the heels the closer you are to God, right? Ha!

SWOON!

The bad? Well, let's just say my grandma might like these. The color combo is kinda yucky and I haaaaaaaate these kind of heels. blah. Even though they are pretty high also, the curved heel is just so out of date IMO.

The straight up fugly?? While granny was trying on those Fendi's up there, grandpa lost control of his rascal and had an accident- his toupee apparently ended up on these booties.
Seriously? An animal had to die for these? Gross gross gross.

When I look at them I just can't help but think of one of these guys-
Eww.

Shoe Girl Had a Little L.A.M.B.

Today I'm wearing these LAMB shoes that I absolutely love and definitely don't wear enough. They're my idea of the perfect chocolate brown with just a little red in there. I'm not a brown shoe kinda gal- in fact, I think these might be my only pair.

Anyhow- they're that beautiful miracle that happens when a shoe is high and comfortable. They're also the perfect mix of girlie and rocker- like Ms. Steffani herself. You can never loose with a sweet mary jane with big chunky buckles.

You can find them at heels.com and love them as much as I do.

Hard Times = High Heels?

Watch CBS Videos Online

Firstly, thanks in advance to fellow shoe blogger Dexter for NOT getting mad that I'm totally stealing this video off your blog, The High Heel Times!

That said, check out this video (from the early show on CBS) which claims that as times get tough, women turn to higher heels. Pretty interesting, non?

Past trends show that it's true, and I totally get it. I mean, when I feel like shit I can turn it around real quick like- simply by slipping into a sexy pair! I mean, really. My kooky brain would have never put 2 and 2 together like that. Go CBS! ha.

Anyway- check it out.

OH! And even though they didn't mention us, they show a pair of LAMB booties (the grey ones next to the YSL's- click the link to get them in black from heels.com) as one of their "favorites". So ya. Go LAMB!

See Moms... You Have No Excuse!

One of my gorgeous friends had some family photos taken and this one caught my eye. This photo goes out to all you moms that use motherhood as an excuse to get frumpy. GET OUT OF THOSE CROCS! You're going to traumatize your children and send them down the wrong path. They look to you for guidance and that includes in the fashion department!

This mom is NOT frumpy. I love how it looks to see a mom with a young kid wearing heels. It gives me hope for my future.

Now I know I'm going to piss some of you moms off, but just hear me out- I'm not judging you I'm just saying that YES, it is possible to pull it off.

Thanks Jolie for the pic! Love your style girl!

Oh... Deer!

So I was checking out A Girl's Guide to Shoes and I saw these babies! There's something about these shoes that I really love. Well, lots of somethings actually!

These shoes have a total designer feel, with the creamy patent leather and metallic leather details, they look rich and luxurious.

The heel is great too with its metal cut out- it lends itself perfectly to the geometric heel trend without being over the top.

That's right... We cant all pull off crazy shoes Miss Brandes! ;)

Anyway, check them out. I think they're a great deal at $199! In MY humble opinion, they look a lot more expensive.

Wanna See Something GREAT!?

Check out this awesome video!!
I can't figure out how to embed it on here so you'll have to just click the link, but I promise you it's worth it.

It's a short video featuring Patricia Field (Sex and the City costume designer) about the high heel.

Check it out!!

High Heeled Art

Happy Saturday people! I'm super exhausted from last night and I have no idea why. I didn't have as much as a sip of alcohol! We went to Detroit Bar and this little gay bar called Tin Lizzie Saloon. It was a fun night that ended in greasy Mexican food.

ANYWAY-
So a while back this guy Mark Schwartz sent me a link to his website that features his artwork, and then last week fellow blogger Tokyo Bunnie sent me his link. I figured it was time to talk about him. His website is called highheeledart.com. There are some really interesting paintings in there, all of shoes and boots. Check it out! This one on the left is on of my favorites.
