Red Soles and Bubbly

Last night the Christian Louboutin boutique at South Coast Plaza celebrated their 1 year anniversary and the place was bumpin with champagne a-flowin! There were shoe lovers everywhere!

I finally got to wear my Christopher Kane for Top Shop dress. Yay!

Amita's nails were out of control amazing... Japanese nail art. I told her they look like barnacles... but in a good way. They're definitely a love them or hate them trend, and I really love them.

Reghan got in on the nail art too

And she wore these amazing hand painted gold tights... So cool.

The boys got in on the action too!

I love these sneakers... I need to get Ben into them ASAP.

It was a really fun night. You should go in and check out all the amazing new shoes (including these babies...)
Yep. I have a problem. But I love them...

My Night in the Clouds...

Ok. So some of you already know, but Monday night I went to a dinner for Mr. Christian Louboutin himself.

I know, right?

It was pretty much the most amazing night of my life (besides my wedding of course) and I was pinching myself all night long. I felt like I was in a dream world and I never wanted to wake up!

The night started with a small cocktail party at the Louboutin boutique. There was champagne and shoe lovers, and I felt so lucky to be a part of it. They had the AMAZING Marie Antoinette shoes on display, and some lucky women were even buying some. There was one lady that was wearing a pair (AHHHHH!!!!!! SO JEALOUS!!) and had a second pair to keep on display.
How cute is the little egg display!? So perfect.

I was really excited and surprised to run into my friend Amy and her lovely mother at the cocktail party- though I should have known she would be there. Her Louboutin collection dwarfs mine, and we were actually introduced by a mutual friend who knew we would get along great if for nothing else than for our mutual love of shoes!

That's Patrick up there. My very favorite "shoe guy". If you're ever in the boutique ask for him- he'll take really good care of you ;) He's the sweetest.

Miss Amita Singh, the lovely store manager. LOVE her. Isn't she adorable!? I got to sit next to her at the dinner and we had a really good time!! She has my favorite picture of Mr. Louboutin and I and I'm hoping she'll send it to me soon (hint hint) cause boy oh boy does my camera suck.
hahaha. ;)

On to the dinner!

So after the cocktail hour we headed across to the amazing little French bistro, Marché Modern. They were hosting the event and the whole restaurant was decorated beautifully with a Marie Antoinette theme.

Every single thing I ate was amazing. The hors d'ourves were delicious and decadent- the salad was perfect, and the main course... to die for! I'm serious you guys- I was blown away.

To finish the meal was this. The most perfectly adorable dessert I've ever seen!

I die!

Everyone took theirs home in a to go tin. I don't think anyone could bare to eat something so beautiful.

Like I said, the night was like a dream. I am so thankful to my friends at the Louboutin boutique for including me in this. I feel really honored and very special! I'll never forget the magical night that I had dinner with Christian Louboutin.

**ADDITION**

Another night I will NEVER forget. I am so lucky to have been a part of this and will never be able to top it! I love all my friends at the boutique so much! We've all become such good friends since then. :)

Time to Go Again...

(my office in China)

Well friends, it's that time again. I'm off to China tomorrow for a LONG two weeks. :(

You all know that Blogger is blocked in China so I won't be able to post, so I've decided to schedule re-posts of some of my old favorites that you may not have seen. If anything exciting happens while I'm there I'll see if I can email Ben a post and have him put it up for me. I'm sure I will because I'm going to Shanghai for the first time and meeting up with my friend and Louboutin boutique manager Amita Singh and her hubby!! YAY! I feel a shopping post coming!

I hate to go and even more, I hate not posting for 2 whole weeks (!!!) but please don't forget about me. ;)

See you all soon! And I'll still be able to Tweet so don't forget to follow me.
xoxo

The Unattainable...

I was feeling very sassy today in my Barbie pink Louboutins and Sex and the City inspired belt. I was very happy to have these shoes back in my possession after my little mishap. They're good as new thanks SO much to my friends at the Louboutin boutique and their amazing shoe repair guy! :)

And speaking of my favorite store ever- I went to visit them and their new arrival today. The "Calypso".
I don't even know what to say about these shoes... They're just amazing and that's not really doing them justice. You should really go in and see them in person. They're magical.

They're black velvet with black and blue suede covered in Swarovski crystals ...drool... and with a whopping 160mm heel height. WOO! Sky high!
Unfortunately for me, they're about $3400 so in other words- they're unattainable. I'm glad to have pictures of them anyway so I can at least say I had shoes this great on my feet if only for a few minutes.

Happy Anniversary to my friends at the Louboutin Boutique at South Coast Plaza!! They opened a year ago today and I was luck enough to share a champagne toast with them today :) Amita, Patrick, Regan, Monica, Jordan and Liam... you guys are the best!!! I'm so glad to have known you for a year already. Time does fly when you're having fun.

If you go in this weekend to wish them a happy anniversary and mention me- The Shoe Girl, you'll get a complimentary glass of bubbly! How great is that? Go ahead, don't be shy... everyone there is great and will treat you like a friend. Not to mention the GORGEOUS shoes!

Congratulations you guys. Thank you for keeping my feet looking fabulous and for all the fun we have together. I love ALL you guys!

Bolo'd Over

I need to be sketching today but I'm having the WORST case of creative block of my life! I keep sitting down with my sketch pad... but nothing.
So where do I go when I want to be inspired?? Well, I go shopping of course!

First stop was a visit to my friends at the Louboutin boutique to look around and to drop off my damaged goods (Hi Amita! Hi Monica! Hey Jourdan!) and then off to see Betty at YSL.

Yes. I'm seriously wearing a bolo tie... I'm pretty into it.

YSL has AMAZING Fall shoes this year. Amazing. I think I was in there for an hour trying on all the new shoes. You guys should go check them out ASAP. We're talking serious footwear here.
OMG! And they have these numbered, limited addition Kate Moss Trib Too pumps! They're this spacey matte silver color and they are reeeeeally cool. Check those out too. Maybe I'll sneak in there and see if I can get a picture. :)

Anyway, I wore these Miu Miu boots today. They were in my bebe launch post but you couldn't see them well. I love them and as simple as they are, I get tons of comments on them. They're even pretty comfortable considering how high they are!

SIDE NOTE:
Why does my hair look so shiny and beautiful you ask? Well... my darling sweetie pants (and fake twin) Christie Walker did this awesome Brazilian keratin treatment on my hair and it worked AMAZINGLY!!! It's a de-frizzing treatment thats totally safe for all hair types. Anyway check her out if you're local.

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND!!

D'OH!

When this happens...

Then this happens...

I mean, how depressing, right?? :'(
I went to my high school's 10 year reunion (yikes) and this girl was smoking in my face (yuck) and when I went to back away from the bitch, I scraped my heel against this cement pillar and "AAARGGGH!!" Totally ruined my new shoes.

...I almost cried and it definitely ruined my night. Luckily, there's a killer shoe repair that the lovely people over at the Louboutin boutique send all their shoes to. I'll keep my fingers crossed and post a picture of the repairs!

What I Wore...

Off to the mall to make a second check on my HL shoes at Macy's. They look much better now that there are more styles. Thank god.
I stopped by the Louboutin boutique to say hi to my favorite people. I swear, I have so much fun every time I go in there.

I look so dorky and awkward. haha.

Can you believe these are comfortable. They are, I swear.
Someday I'll buy a better camera. Any suggestions?

4 1/2 Hours on My Feet...

The day after the dinner, my twinnie Christie and I decided we'd pop by the Louboutin signing to have our shoe boxes signed real quick. Hahaha! Real quick.

...cut to 4 1/2 hours later. Our feet were killing us, we hadn't eaten all day (besides the pure sugar "cakes" they passed out) and we were getting cranky. We tried to make light of it and made fun of the situation. We definitely kept ourselves entertained.
The women in line with us were super great also, so that helped. We had an adorable mom of 2 next to us, and her twin girls were SO well behaved, it was crazy. Behind her was a mom with a baby... a BABY... that never cried once. They must be future shoe girls.

Christian Louboutin was amazing. He spent time with every single person in line (which explains the 4.5 hour wait) talking and taking pictures. He really was a great sport. I hear some people even waited for close to 8 hours!!

2 of my gorgeous bloggers were there! That was a nice surprise. :)

This is me and reader Mika! She said she recognized me by my shoes and blonde hair. So cute.

About halfway through waiting I got bored and decided to buy these amazing new bright yellow pumps. SO cute!

I wore my new "sexy ice creams" to the signing, so you can imagine the pain I was feeling. Ouch, but so worth it.

Me and my new BFF. We totally match. ;)

(cause I was wearing a Barbie necklace)

The day was crazy and hectic and totally fun. I was glad to get home and off my feet though!

Wanna Meet Christian Louboutin?

I just got my invite in the mail and I'm going! :) You guys should come if you're in the area. Wouldn't that be fun?? A Shoe Girl field trip?!

Yesssss.

Anyway, He'll be at the Louboutin boutique @ South Coast Plaza on Tuesday, Feb. 24th from noon to 4pm.
I met him once a few years ago and he was great. You can have him sign your shoes or whatever and he's seriously adorable.

I'm thinking I should pick up the "sexy ice cream" ones. Hehe.

Along with my invitation was a little insert telling about Louboutin's collaboration with the world renowned embroiderers Jean Francois Lesage. They are previewing their limited edition Marie Antoinette capsule collection, and they say "Each shoe is a work of art and exquisite blend of sculpture and fine embroidery in a wearable classic Louboutin evening silhouette."
There are only 36 pair that exist in the world, and each shoe is stamped with a limited edition number. Each pair will be sold in a special box with accompanying book.

The shoes will retail for $ 6,295 and will debut February 23 at the South Coast Plaza boutique and on February 26 on the East Coast at the Madison Avenue boutique. I'd think that we would get the second shipment, as New York is so much radder than our Orange County... but I guess not.

I obviously won't be buying these shoes. Firstly, Ben would murder me- collect on the insurance and then sell the shoes on ebay (and finally get those damned countertops).
Second, I'd never in good consience wear them out. Ever.

I find it interesting that in such crazy economic times, there would be $6000+ shoes. I mean, it's kind of an F-U to those of us struggling to pay our mortgages, right? But... that's what we love about our fashion icons I suppose. Their never wavering middle fingers they all seem to be throwing up at us.
