Shoe Regrets...

Do you guys ever have shoe regret? I don't mean shoe remorse where you buy a pair and then you're like, why the eff did I buy that effing shoe? I mean when you see an amazing shoe and you don't buy it for one reason or another and then it sells out and you're like, why the eff didn't I buy that effing shoe?

Well kids, yesterday I scored a major victory against shoe regret. I purchased one of the shoes on my list! Yes, I have a list. Wanna see it? Well here's the abridged version ;)

The sweetest shoe I've ever seen? Probably. Luella by Georgina Goodman Spring Summer 2009

(photo: ShoeDaydreams -luckyyyy!)

So rad. Dior creepers, Fall Winter 2004

Such a perfectly beautiful wedge. The green is perfect. Paule Ka, 2010
Sold out everywhere, these perfect fringe boots by Isabel Marant, Fall 2011

Some of the most amazing shoes I've ever seen, these Balenciaga Fall 2010 shoes were WAY out of my price rage. At over $2500 I regret not having them, but I can't say I regret not buying them ;)

And I know that Jeffrey Campbell knocked these right off but I still wait for the original to pop up on ebay in my size, the Chloe "doc martin" ankle boot. Love.

Finally, the super popular, often imitated but never duplicated (until now!!) Chloe studded flat boot. Fall 2008, Fall 2011

That's right! The Chloe Susan boot has been reissued! I picked them up today from the South Coast Plaza Chloe store. The LA store had a waitlist and is selling out fast! If you too have these shoes on your regret list, go go go!!! They are also available in red if you're daring enough...

I'm so excited!!

Disappointed

Oh Prada! Why do you build me up baby just to let me down, and mess me around? ;)

Remember I did that post like forever ago (ok, 5 months ago) about how OBSESSED I was with the runway shoes? Yes. Good times.
Well that post wasn't even half of it. As soon as I decided that I needed them in my clutches I drove my ass over to the Prada boutique and hunted down a sales person and practically begged her to help me out.
"Can't I pre-order them? I can pay now! I neeeeed these shoes!"
I was a woman possessed. Like a huntress stalking my prey... I'd make these shoes my own!

It took THREE visits before someone took me seriously (weird, right? why are you saying no to a sale?) Maybe they mistook my passion as psycho-ness. Maybe because I was 5 months ahead of the ship date. Whatever.

So I pre-ordered 2 shoes a couple of weeks ago, both wedges, without seeing them in person. Going off the runway photos. This wedge in grey with a pink stripe at the bottom (!!!!!)

And a green and black striped one with a peep toe and and orange stripe at the bottom. (can't find a photo)

My Disappointment? Well, sometimes department stores get versions of the shoes before the boutiques do. Makes NO sense but happens all the time. I saw some wedges at Nordstrom and they were less that impressive. Why? The height. The runway shoes were sky high, just how I like my shoes. Like many designers do, to the frustration of people who believe the higher the better, they lowered the shoes that were made for the masses. They look kinda dumbed down and not nearly as exciting. Miuccia has played this trick on me before.

With this shoe (circa 2008)...

That became this shoe for the masses...

Totally different right? Tisk tisk Miuccia.

Now I may be speaking prematurely, and I hope I am. I've only seen the runway heels in person, not the runway wedges so MAYBE they didn't change them too much. Fingers crossed!

I will, of course let you know as soon as I get them in my greedy little hands.

Shoes On Sale!

There are so many great shoes on sale right now. It brings up my argument for waiting again... too bad I don't take my own advise, right? It just seems that a lot of really beautiful shoes are going on sale these days. I'm sure it has to do with the economy of course. That mixed with the ridiculous price of designer shoes. Anyway- check these out, and hopefully some of you will score some sweet deals.

Here are some of my favorites:

This shoe looks amazing on the foot. So high and sexy. From $736 to $368 here

An adorable ballet flat at a discount. From $475 to $380 here if you're a 6. If you're not, call your local Louboutin boutique. They have more sizes and a slightly larger discount.

Two of my favorite trends- vinyl and studding! From $975 $780 here.

There's something really cool about this shoe. The draped soft leather in front and the elastic in back. Very cool and a great sale price too- From $438 to $219 here.

LOVE the color here, not to mention the shape. From $952 to $666... ooh evil.... here.

I'm surprised to see these on sale... I really like them a lot. From $875 to $612 here.

These are super cool and from up and coming designer LD Tuttle. She and I went to design school in Milan together and it's so cool to see her stuff everywhere. From $660 to $330 here.

This shoe is nuts. I love how al the neutral pieces make that red heel just pop. Also- check out the detail. Isn't that awesome?? All the pieces are wrapped around the whole thing. Very cool. From $830 to $415 here. It also comes in black but I just love this color.

Ok, so technically I don't love this shoe but I do respect it for being unique. Half strappy shoe, half bootie. Interesting.... From $790 to $395 here.

A great summer shoe that I paid full retail for. Story of my life... From $595 to $395 here.

So dang cute!!! From $795 to $479 here.

These are great and such a great color. Everyone needs a great nude shoe... From $795 to $479 here.

And these are just adorable. Like melting ice cream on your feet. From $560 to $339 here.

And finally- this hot number. I love the Kirkwood statement platform. So sexy. From $701 to $424 here.

Hey Stranger!

I've never owned a pair of Rock & Republic shoes but someone recently brought the brand to my attention and they have some seriously sexy styles!

I found this style... and on sale! Hello!

I love the mix of that techy fabric with satin and the exotic leather! And the pop of fire engine red lacquer on the heel... perfect.

You can find them here on zappos for $313 from $439. Not bad for Italian made shoes!

Shopping Spree!

I'm in New York right now for the shoe show- which is going well by the way :)
But before I left, I took my little sister Katie on a little shopping spree.

We killed it...

For my hard work and selfless shopping that day I decided to treat myself. I also decided to go against popular vote and NOT get the studded Louboutins (unless of course, they go on sale)
So here they are- my newest purchase... the Ron Ron in Barbie Pink.

(hallelujah trumpets descend)

Yippee! Do you like?? I LOVE them. They may be one of my favorite shoes ever. They are not so high that I can't wear them often and the color is truly amazing and even better in person. I love that they are a simple, classic silhouette and that the color is the thing that makes them pop.
I wore them out of the store and for the rest of our shopping extravaganza and got lots of elevator eyes and nice compliments. That always makes me feel like I spent my money wisely. Yes- I'm that shallow.
